Description

This barn, located 15 meters north of Lower Clay Pits, is dated 1657 and bears the initials "TB." The roof was raised in 1924. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a cart entry with composite jambs and a new wooden lintel. There are two mistal doorways, each with Tudor arched lintels, one of which is inscribed with the date and set within a tressure, along with chamfered composite jambs. The structure includes quoins and gutter brackets, and the right-hand return wall has chamfered rectangular ventilators. Finials adorn the apex of the gables. Inside, the barn has a softwood queen-post roof. It is listed for its group value only.
