Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres to the north-west of Raw End Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century and is now combined with a cottage. It is constructed of stone brought to course and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of four bays. The left bay, which was originally a cottage, includes an outshut that now has garage doors and a doorway on the right side. The barn has a round-arched cart entry with quoins, voussoirs, and a springer on the left side. There is a mistal door on the far right with a plain stone surround. Inside, the cottage bay features a chamfered stone fireplace with a deep lintel. The barn contains three queen-post trusses with angle braces, and mortices in the soffit of the left tie-beam suggest the presence of a former partition wall. This building is included for its group value.
