Description

This building consists of a cottage and outbuilding, located 25 meters north of Erringden Grange Farmhouse, and is likely a former textile factory dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The structure has three storeys and includes two doorways with monolithic jambs that lead to the original stable, with arrow slit ventilators on either side. Above these doorways is a first-floor taking-in door with tie-stones, accessed by a flight of stone steps.

The building has a three-light flat faced mullioned window, with two additional similar windows on the second floor. The right side of the building contains a cottage with a doorway that is protected by a gabled porch, which has a side entrance with tie-stone. To the left of this doorway is a flat faced mullioned window with two broad lights, which was formerly sashed. Directly above the doorway is a blocked first-floor taking-in door with tie-stones. The building features a lateral stack and another stack at the ridge.

The right-hand return wall is quoined and has a three-light flat faced mullioned window on the first floor. The rear of the building includes three flat faced mullioned windows with three lights on each floor. Attached to the left end is a single-storey range that links to a barn, forming a courtyard between the two structures. This wall has two semi-circular arched cart entries supported by a double skewback on a monolithic pillar, with large copings and a mono-pitched roof. On either side of the cart entries are doorways with monolithic jambs.
