Description
This is a mid 17th-century cottage located 10 meters northeast of May Royd in Hebden Bridge. It is constructed of thin coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and features a stone slate roof. The cottage has two storeys, with the most notable feature being the south-facing gable, which is coped with kneelers. On the ground floor, there is a 4-light chamfered mullioned window, and above it, a 4-light double chamfered mullioned window with a hoodmould and straight return over it on the first floor. Between these two windows, there are two small chamfered lights that are blocked and of indeterminate use. The left-hand return wall has a well-dressed lateral stack, while the right-hand return wall has a mid 20th-century lean-to porch that covers the entrance. The cottage is a prominent feature in the landscape.
