Description
No 6 Burnett Street, along with No 4 and No 18 Peckover Street, is a Grade II listed building dating from around 1865. This plain two-storey office and warehouse corner block is constructed of sandstone "brick" and features a plat band over a rusticated basement and sill bands. The building has an inset bowed corner and a hipped slate roof with flat eaves, along with a corner chimney stack.
The façade on Burnett Street has five bays, while the Peckover Street side has eleven bays, with sash windows set in shallow reveals and thin lintels. Due to the slope of the street, the basement has a half storey on Burnett Street. A pilastered doorway on Burnett Street is topped with an entablature, and above it are tripartite Venetian grouped lights set within archivolt arches. At the east end of the Peckover front, there is a large corniced waggonway where the basement area is enclosed by arrowhead railings.
