Description

Nos 27 and 29 Chapel Street are plain two-storey houses built around 1840-1850, constructed of painted sandstone designed to resemble brick. No 29 features a flat arched waggon way and a slender pilastered doorway topped with a thin cornice. The houses have two and three windows respectively. No 27 has undergone some alterations. These buildings are part of an area known as "Little Germany," which showcases a mix of earlier domestic architecture and later mid-century industrial development.
