Description

Nos 76 and 78 on Market Street in Thornton, dating from around 1802, were originally a stable and coach house for No 74, with a dwelling at the west end. The building is constructed from sandstone "brick" with deeper courses than No 74. It features a stone slate roof with block brackets at the eaves and has a blocked doorway. The cottage includes two-light square mullion windows set in squared surrounds and a plain squared jamb doorway. This building is included for its group value.
