Description
No. 1 Havelock Square is a three-storey and basement house built around 1820, serving as the terminal feature of a row of cottages that ascend the hillside. It is constructed from sandstone "brick" and has a stone slate roof. The narrow south end features a full-height canted bay with squared stone surrounds and square mullioned windows, with a hipped roof over this section. On the east entrance front, there are two light square mullioned windows and a plain squared jamb doorway. The south end is a significant architectural feature as viewed from Market Street.
