Description

Numbers 14 and 16 Piccadilly, built around 1830, feature three-storey elevations made of sandstone with a brick-like appearance and horizontal grooving on the ground floor. Number 16 is positioned slightly higher on the hill, with the entrance bay of Number 14 protruding slightly. The right side of the façade has three bays, with a frieze at the first floor sill band and an eaves cornice. The first-floor windows have flat surrounds and aprons extending down to the sill band. The left side includes two tall sash windows on the upper floors and a tripartite window on the ground floor, lacking a frieze at the eaves cornice. The entrance bay of Number 14 features a large, concave revealed round-headed doorway with grooving in the arch and a console keystone, flanked by pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. There are Art Nouveau ironwork gates leading to the recessed porch. The upper floors of the entrance bay have tall tripartite windows. Number 16 has a door with six fielded panels and a rectangular fanlight, set in plain reveals.
