Description
Nos 18 to 24 on Piccadilly, built around 1830, is a three-storey building with a symmetrical five-bay elevation featuring a central break. The structure is made of sandstone ashlar. The centre is flanked by broad pilasters above the ground floor, with quarter pilasters on the inner sides and thin pilasters framing the windows in vertical panels. There is a frieze, cornice, and parapet that projects forward over the centre, where the parapet is panelled with dies and capping. The ground floor has horizontal grooving that extends up to the first floor sill band. There are doorways at each end of the front, and a flat-linted carriageway at the centre break, which is adorned with ornate iron gates from around 1900. The second-floor windows still have glazing bar sashes.
