Description
This is a milestone located opposite the reception office of Shipley Paint Company on Otley Road in Baildon. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of roughly dressed stone, shaped like a triangle in section. The lettering on the milestone is incised and painted, indicating distances to Otley and Bradford: "TO OTLEY 8 MILES" on the left face and "TO BRADFORD 4 MILES" on the right face.
