Description
Brookhill Stores is a house that has been converted into a house and shop, originally built in 1718. It is constructed from dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building stands two storeys high with an outshut at the rear and follows a central lobby-entry plan with two cells. The symmetrical facade has three bays. The doorway is framed by monolithic jambs and a lintel with a false keystone. Above the door, there is a recessed date plaque and an oval window with a raised surround and keystone. On either side of the door, there are double-chamfered mullioned windows, which were originally four lights but have been reduced to two lights; the ground floor windows have renewed lintels. The gables are coped and have kneelers, and there is a central ridge stack. At the rear, there is a four-light double-chamfered mullioned window with another above it, along with inserted shop windows to the left.
Inside, the house features a large fireplace with a wide segmental-arched bressumer and a chamfered surround.
