Milestone. Dated 1664 or 1764. Millstone grit. Approx 1m high, 0.4m wide, semicircular top; smooth surface with incised lettering on faces to King Lane and Alwoodley Lane but roughly shaped on back. Inscriptions: front (to King Lane): 'IB/ 1-64/ To Leedes/ 4 M (pointing hand)/ To Otley/ -5 M/ (pointing hand)'. Left return (to Alwoodley Lane): 'To York/ 20 M (pointing hand)/ To/ Wether/ bey 9 M'. Right return: ' (?) 1821 /GD'. Probably re-set but close to original position.
