Description

Number 38, known as Woodlands Farmhouse, and the adjoining cottage to the south-west, is a house and attached cottage dating from the mid-18th century, although the cottage may be older. The farmhouse is two stories tall, while the cottage is a single story. Both are constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with the cottage rendered, and they feature stone slate roofs.

The single-cell cottage on the left has a three-light flat-faced mullioned window to the left of the doorway, which has monolithic jambs. The farmhouse has a symmetrical three-bay facade with raised quoins, a band, and an eaves cornice. The doorway features an architrave and a six-panel door, with a single-light window above it. The outer bays have windows with architraves containing two wide lights, which may have originally been four lights, and these also have flat-faced mullions. The building has coped gables with ridge stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
