Description
This small cottage, located 5 metres south of Gildersber Cottage, likely dates from the early 18th century and is probably contemporary with it. The building features rubble brought to course, large dressed quoins, and a stone slate roof. It is a two-storey single-cell structure with two-light double-chamfered mullioned windows on each floor, although one window is missing its mullion. There is an end stack on the left side, and the right-hand return wall has a doorway with composite jambs and a straight lintel that has a broad chamfered surround. To the left at mezzanine level, there is a single-chamfered light that illuminates a small stone spiral staircase.
Inside, the cottage includes a square-headed fireplace, a stop-chamfered spine beam, and stop-chamfered floor joists.
