Description

Milestone at Four Lanes End, probably from the mid 18th century, is a square monolith with two finely-dressed faces. The left face is engraved with "To Otley 10 Mls" and the right face reads "To Leeds 14 Mls," with a hand pointing to the left and another hand pointing to the right. This milestone is located on a turnpike road that was established in 1755.
