Description

The former stable block and cottage to Langley House, built in 1889, is a Grade II listed building. It features coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and a slate roof, arranged in a U shape. The west drive front has a central gateway with ornate, square ashlar piers topped by iron lamps, flanked by ramped walls with ashlar coping.

To the left, the two-storey north range houses the stables. Its west front includes a two-light mullion window and a five-light window above, crowned by an openwork gable. The south courtyard front has a central two-light window, flanked by single doorways with overlights and additional two-light mullion windows. Above are two smaller similar windows, and this range is topped by a small cupola. The single-storey east range contains the carriage houses, featuring three pairs of plank double doors and a steel and glass canopy.

To the south, the two-storey cottage range has an entrance front with a canted bay window on the left, which contains four sash windows. To the right is a doorway with a chamfered ashlar surround. The upper floor projects on large ashlar brackets and features a five-light mullion sash window with a small openwork gable above. The south front includes a triangular bay window with a leaded ogee cap. Inside the stable block, the original tiled flooring, stalls, and feeding troughs remain intact.
