Description
This is a 19th-century milepost located approximately 50 metres north of the junction with Stockarth Lane in Bradfield. It was made by Brayshaw and Booth from Liversedge and is constructed from cast iron mounted on a gritstone pillar. The milepost has angled sides beneath a round-headed panel.
The raised lettering on the upper panel reads "WADSLEY LANGSETT / & / SHEFFIELD / ROAD / WORRALL." The left panel indicates distances to Huddersfield (22½ miles) and Holmfirth (17 miles), while the right panel shows the distance to Sheffield (4 miles).
