10/56 Gate piers to drive of Middlewood Hall. 27/11/78 II

Pair of gate piers. Early C19. Gritstone, finely finished siltstone urns. Square moulded plinths, monolithic piers incised with line decoration. Moulded cornice, large urn-shaped finials built up in 4 parts with gadrooned base and cap. Formed the main entrance to Middlewood Hall (q.v.) which is now entered from Mowson Lane.
