Description
This is a 19th-century milepost located at the junction with Langsett Road North in Bradfield. It was made by Brayshaw and Booth from Liversedge and is constructed from cast iron mounted on a gritstone pillar. The milepost features angled sides beneath a round-headed panel. The raised lettering on the upper panel indicates "WADSLEY LANGSETT / & / SHEFFIELD / ROAD / ONESACRE." The left side shows the distances to Huddersfield (20½ miles) and Holmfirth (15 miles), while the right side indicates Sheffield is 6 miles away.
