Description
The churchyard walls, piers, and war memorial at the Church of St Mary date from the late 19th century, with the war memorial itself dated 1920. The wall on the left is made of coursed squared stone with half-round coping, featuring a rounded corner and a plain gateway. The war memorial consists of a 5-meter length of similar wall topped with Portland stone coping. It carries an inscribed plaque supported by volutes and is topped with a shallow segmental pediment and keystone adorned with a cross. Below the plaque, there is a flower trough with bronze rosettes on shaped corbels. To the right, there is a square ashlar gate pier located at the corner of the return wall to the churchyard. The return wall includes a gateway with square piers and pyramidal caps.
