Description
The gateway and railing at Woodhouse Cemetery, built in 1878 by Innocent & Brown for the Woodhouse Burial Board, is a notable structure made of coursed squared stone and ashlar, featuring wrought-iron railings and gates. The gateway is flanked by two large square gate piers that have chamfered tops and double pitched conical caps. To the left, there is a side gate with a pair of round topped piers. The railing extends beyond this with a stone plinth, which has chamfered coping along the plinth and piers, measuring approximately 100 meters in length. To the right of the main gate, there is a wall with chamfered coping, approximately 10 meters long. This structure is included for its group value.
