Description

The wall of the churchyard of the Church of St Mary the Blessed Virgin, along with the attached War Memorial, is a low stone rubble structure featuring roughly embattled coping, with rendered coping at the south end on the south-west side of the churchyard. This wall includes the War Memorial and the Lychgate, then curves around to follow Greenwood Lane, where there is another small gate. The War Memorial, dating from around 1920, has a simple design made of unpolished granite. It consists of a plinth with three steps that supports an obelisk-type shaft topped with a cross-head.
