Description

This barn, located approximately 35 metres to the southwest of Onesacre Hall, is likely from the 17th century. It features a cruck frame and is constructed from coursed, squared gritstone, with sections that are partly dry-walled and partly mortared. The roof is made of stone slate, although the right part is covered with corrugated iron. The barn is mostly a single storey with four bays and has quoins at the corners.

There is a door on the left side with a chamfered quoined surround, and an inserted doorway to its right, with a quoined pitching hole above. A cart entrance is located to the right of the centre, featuring quoined reveals but no door. The barn has various slit vents, some of which are blocked, as well as a row of three small blocked cruciform vents to the left of the cart entrance. Shaped kneelers with bases for finials and gable copings are present, along with stepped plinth courses on the left return.

To the left, there is a former two-light double-chamfered mullion window, and to the right, a single-light window. Inside, there are three pairs of crucks raised within the walling, wall tie beams, single purlins with some wind braces, and a diagonal ridge in a crossed apex. The left truss features a soffit-morticed tie beam, and there is a cowhouse in the left bay with a loft above.
