Description
The building is a barn, likely dating from the early 17th century. It is a cruck-framed structure, with external cladding of stone and brick, and a slate roof. The barn has four bays; the first bay contains a loft accessed by external stone steps in the gable, and the third bay features opposed wagon doorways. It has a stone plinth and stone quoins to three-quarters of the height at the front corners, and to half the height at the rear corners. The gable copings are of stone and have kneelers, with ball finials on those at the left end. A loft door of studded planks is set within a wooden doorcase with a slightly arched lintel. Inside, there are two full cruck trusses, one with halved blades. Both trusses have footstones, very high collars, and short king struts to the ridge, with the blades touching at the apex.
