Description
Wadsley House Club is a house that has been converted into a club, built around 1823, with later additions and alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It was constructed for George Housfield and features ashlar stonework with ashlar dressings, topped by a hipped artificial slate roof that has a stone ridge stack. The building has a plinth, a first-floor band, and moulded eaves. It is two storeys high and has a five-window range in an L-plan layout. The windows are mainly plain sashes. The main block on the right side has three windows, and below it is a central semicircular Doric portico with steps that leads to a panelled door with an overlight. To the left of the portico is a reglazed window, and to the right are two smaller boarded windows. A slightly set-back block on the left has two windows, with a sash window to the left and a French window with an overlight to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
