SK39SW BEN LANE, Wadsley 784-1/1/894 (North East side) Dial House Club and attached boundary wall

House, now club, and attached boundary wall. Dated 1802, with later C19 and C20 additions and alterations. Coursed squared stone with painted ashlar dressings and stone slate roof with 2 coped stone gable stacks. Plinth, first floor sillband, wooden gutter on brackets. 2 storeys; 3 window range. Double range plan. Central tripartite window with reglazed central light, flanked by single plain sashes, all with raised surrounds. Central ashlar doorcase with late C20 door, and above it, a square panel containing a sundial dated 1802, inscribed with the name Coopland and a verse. To left, a reglazed window with raised surround. To right, a reglazed window with altered opening. Right return has C19 stone doorcase with flat hood. INTERIOR not inspected. Outside, a stone boundary wall with gabled coping and central gateway, approx 20m long.
