Description

Dial House Club, originally a house, was built in 1802 and has later 19th and 20th century additions and alterations. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with painted ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof with two coped stone gable stacks. It has a plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a wooden gutter supported by brackets. The structure is two storeys high and has a three-window range, following a double range plan. The central tripartite window has a reglazed central light, flanked by single plain sash windows, all with raised surrounds. The central ashlar doorcase contains a late 20th-century door, and above it is a square panel featuring a sundial dated 1802, inscribed with the name Coopland and a verse. To the left is a reglazed window with a raised surround, and to the right is a reglazed window with an altered opening. The right return features a 19th-century stone doorcase with a flat hood. The exterior also includes a stone boundary wall with gabled coping and a central gateway, approximately 20 meters long. The interior has not been inspected.
