Description
This is a sewer gas lamp located at the junction of Kendal Road and Hawthorn Road in Sheffield. It was made in the late 19th century by the Webb Lamp Company. The lamp is constructed of cast iron and painted blue. It features a conical shape with a domed top, supported by curved brackets at the top of a fluted round column that has a bulged foot and ladder rests. The lamp stands on a round pedestal with a plinth, and on opposite sides, there are moulded panels displaying the maker's name. At the time of the survey, the lamp was complete and in working order.
