Description

The Former Malinbridge Corn Mill, now a restaurant, is located on Loxley Road in Sheffield. This building dates from the early 19th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century, and it was restored and converted in the late 20th century. The structure is made of coursed rubble, partly rendered, with ashlar dressings and slate roofs featuring two gable stacks. It has an L-shaped plan and a plinth, standing two storeys tall with a total of eight windows arranged in a 4:4 pattern.

The higher east range has four 2-light glazing bar casements on each floor, all of which are from the 20th century, with the lower right window set in an altered opening. To the right of this range, there is a restored 19th-century cast-iron undershot water wheel with wooden floats. To the left, there is a slightly set-back rendered range with four windows above and three below, along with a glazed double door.

The right return facing the street features a first-floor wooden gallery with a lean-to roof that covers a door and a 2-light window. Above the gallery, there is a loft door with a single light blank window to its right. Under the gallery, there is a central door and a 2-light window to the right. To the right, there is a two-storey range with three 2-light casements. Below this, a similar window is flanked on the left by a door, both with stone lintels, and on the right by a cart entrance with double doors. The interior has been entirely refitted and no machinery remains.
