Description
Dial House is a house built in the late 17th century and early 19th century. It features coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and red brick additions, topped with pantile roofs that have two ashlar coped gables. The building has three gable and a single ridge brick stacks, and it is constructed in an L-plan. The house is two storeys tall, plus garrets.
The south front has four bays, with a lower two-bay wing to the left. There is an off-centre doorway with a 19th-century plank door and a brick drip mould. To the right of the door is a single segment-headed glazing bar sash, and to the left is a glazing bar sash with a hood, followed by a small chamfered two-light window. Above this, there is a small 20th-century casement, a four-light sliding sash, a small glazing bar sash with a brick drip mould, and a four-light recessed and chamfered mullion window with a drip mould.
The east gable features two three-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, each with one missing mullion. The rear range is constructed of rubble on the ground floor and raised in brick above, with various segment-headed glazing bar sashes. Inside, the house has some chamfered beams.
