Description
The boundary wall and gates at the former board school were built in 1903 by the architectural firm Holmes & Watson for the Sheffield Education Committee. The wall is constructed of rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a main section with ramped triangular stone coping. To the right, next to the caretaker's house, there is a single wrought-iron gate set between square stone piers. In the center and to the left, there are double gateways flanked by square stone piers topped with moulded and inscribed ashlar caps. The central gateway includes a cast-iron double gate. The wall extends approximately 200 meters and serves as an ancillary structure to the former board school, included for its group value.
