Description
The boundary wall, railing, and gates to Nether Green Middle School were built in 1904 by the architectural firm Holmes & Watson for the Sheffield School Board. The structure features coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings, along with wrought-iron railings and gates. It consists of a low wall topped with chamfered coping and square stone piers that have chamfered ashlar caps. The railings are adorned with heads shaped like leaves. There is an off-centre pair of gate piers that also have moulded ashlar caps, supporting arch-top double gates. This boundary structure serves as an ancillary feature to Nether Green Middle School and is included for its group value.
