Description

The building is a cartshed, granary, and stable located approximately 20 metres south of Chestnut Tree Farmhouse, dated 1816. It is constructed from coursed, horizontally-tooled sandstone and features a renewed tile roof. The elongated structure includes a 5-entry cartshed on the left, a 3-door stable on the right, and a granary with a loft above. It has two storeys.

The cartshed has a segmental-arched arcade for cart entry, with the outermost reveals quoined and otherwise monolithic piers, shared springers, and herringbone-tooled voussoirs. The left entry features a boarded door, while entries three and four have horizontal-sliding doors. The stable on the right has bonded stone surrounds for its three doorways, with a boarded door in the centre and the outer doorways now blocked and converted into windows.

Above the cartshed, there are two first-floor windows with horizontal-sliding sashes and glazing bars, set in square-faced surrounds. The left side of the building has shaped kneelers and gable copings. The rear has blocked first-floor windows for the granary above the cartshed, along with blocked ground-floor windows and first-floor openings for the stable section. The left return features stone steps leading to the granary door, which has a dated lintel.
