Description
Hooton Common Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse located in Hooton Roberts, South Yorkshire. It is constructed from coursed, squared sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof, with stone slates on part of the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a five-bay front and a wing extending to the rear right. Notable architectural details include projecting ashlar quoins and a central panelled door set within a stone architrave, flanked by 20th-century canted bay windows. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, all set in projecting square-faced surrounds. The gables are adorned with shaped kneelers and chamfered copings, and there are end stacks. The right side of the building features two-light, square-faced mullion windows, although the upper window is partially blocked. There is a disused and semi-derelict section of the rear wing that is not considered of special interest.
