Description
This is a farm building, possibly originally used for domestic purposes, located approximately 30 metres to the north-west of Todwick Old Hall. It dates from the late 17th century and has been altered over time. The structure is made of coursed, dressed sandstone and features a pantile roof. It stands two storeys high and has two windows on the first floor. The south side of the building has two blocked ground-floor openings beneath two three-light, double-chamfered windows that no longer have mullions. The rear side includes a doorway flanked by casement windows with plain lintels. On the right side, there are remnants of a large double-chamfered window, likely originally four lights, which is now bricked up, along with part of the dripstone that remains; there is also a blocked two-light window in the gable. The left side features stone steps leading to a first-floor doorway with a chamfered ashlar surround; another similar doorway to the right of the steps is blocked. Inside, the building retains its original floor structure with chamfered transverse beams and has early 19th-century roof trusses. Attached farm buildings are not of special interest.
