Description
The main gate piers to Kiveton Hall are likely from the early 19th century but incorporate materials from around 1700. They are made of ashlar limestone and feature simple square designs with chamfered edges. Each pier has thin bands beneath pyramidal plinths topped with ball finials, although the finial on the right pier is missing. Panels that support each gate pier have architraves and scrolled brackets beneath a moulded cornice. These piers mark the entrance to Kiveton Park, the former seat of the Osborne family, Dukes of Leeds, and are located on the drive to Kiveton Hall. They are included for their group value.
