Description

These former cottages, located at the rear of Number 32, date from the early 19th century and are now used as a workshop and store. They are constructed from deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone and feature a pantile roof. The buildings are two stories high, with each cottage being a single cell. Each has a boarded door with a plain lintel positioned to the right of a 16-pane iron casement window that has an arched-soffit lintel. On the first floor, there are 12-pane iron casements with projecting sills and plain lintels. The left end has a rendered stack, while a taller central ridge stack is present. Inside, the original layout is maintained, with a sill beneath the front window, a fireplace in the left wall, and a boxed stair to the rear right. These cottages were originally part of a row of four and represent a well-preserved and uncommon example of early cottage housing.
