Description
Todwick Old Hall is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century that has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed, squared sandstone with a pantile roof and features two storeys, cellars, and an attic. The building has three windows on the first floor and is accessed from the rear.
The south front displays some large quoins and includes an original four-light double-chamfered mullioned window on the left, alongside a similar three-light window, both of which have iron stanchions, leaded lights, and dripstones. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century casement windows beneath old dripstones, and a casement in the position of the smaller window on the left also features a dripstone. The external end stack on the left has offsets and a brick shaft, while a 20th-century external end stack is located on the right.
At the rear, there is a chamfered, quoined doorway, along with remains of original two-light cellar windows and two- and three-light windows flanking the door. The first floor has 20th-century windows, and there is an obscure splayed recess to the left that has been interrupted by the rebuilding of the adjacent gable. The left return features single-light windows flanking the stack, with ashlar vesicae in the attic. An attached outbuilding is noted but is not of special interest.
