Description

5/99 Farm building approximately 5 metres north of Weston Hall 18.5.53

GV II

Farm building. C18 with earlier remains. Sandstone rubble with pantile roof. Continuous range with barn at right. Left-hand building has external steps to first floor doorway, ground floor doorway at right, and two C20 window surrounds on first floor. Barn has two rows of ventilation slits, and a cart entrance with segmental arch. Interior: barn has five queen-post trusses with collars and raking struts. Between the barn and the left-hand building is a timber-framed wall from an earlier building, framed in square panels with brick infill. The left-hand building, which is narrower with a lower ridge, has a truss with raking struts.
