Farmbuilding Approximately 100 Metres To North Of Sandbeck Park Stables

This is a disused barn and cowhouse located approximately 100 metres north of Sandbeck Park Stables, dating from the mid-18th century and built for the Sandbeck Park estate. The structure is made of coursed rubble limestone with a partly removed pantile roof. It is a two-storey, seven-bay building featuring a central waggon entrance flanked by front outshuts that have catslide roofs. The barn has large quoins, and the waggon entrance is highlighted by projecting imposts and a keystone, set beneath a pedimented gable with an oculus in the tympanum.

On the right outshut, there is a central doorway with a bonded ashlar surround, flanked by square windows with plain ashlar surrounds. The left outshut has been altered, now featuring garage doors on the left and a door and window in an ashlar surround to the right. The right end of the roof is currently without pantile covering, and some rafters have been removed over the outshut. The building also has shaped kneelers and gable copings. The rear has been altered and is undergoing reconstruction, with a large Diocletian window on the right. This building is included for its group value.
