Description
This small barn, likely built in the 18th century, is located on the east side of the entrance to Low House Farm. It has been altered over time and is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and three courses of through-stones, topped with a stone slate roof. The barn features a rectangular three-bay plan oriented on an east-west axis and faces north. In the center, there is a segmental-headed wagon doorway with rubble voussoirs, which was sagging at the time of inspection in October 1994. To the right, there is a former doorway that has been altered to serve as a window, featuring a monolith lintel. The rear wall shows slight cracking. This barn is part of the ongoing development of the farmstead and is included in a group with Low House Farmhouse, a garden shelter on the opposite side of the entrance, and a former stable attached to the house.
