Description

This building is a farm structure located approximately 20 metres east of Home Farmhouse. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. The walls are made of coursed limestone rubble, and it features stone slate eaves courses beneath a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of seven bays, with large quoins at the corners.

The near-central doorway has a brick relieving arch and is flanked on the left by a square-headed doorway, which leads to external stone steps that incorporate a dog-kennel beyond. On the right side, there is a flat-arched doorway that now has a slatted casement, along with a door in an ashlar surround and another doorway beyond with a segmental brick arch.

On the first floor, there are two segmental-arched casements located near the centre of the range, a boarded door leading to the landing of the external steps on the left, and a boarded loft door at the right end of the range. The building features shaped kneelers and ashlar gable copings. At the rear, there are later brick steps leading to the loft doorway on the right. There are also attached single-storey farm buildings, but these are not of special interest.
