Description

This building is a farm structure located approximately 20 metres to the west of Lundhill Farmhouse. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of coursed, squared sandstone with a stone slate roof. The building has three storeys and three bays, featuring a plinth and large quoins. There are ashlar piers and an impost band supporting three 3-centred archways, which have projecting keystones. These archways are now partly blocked, with the central archway containing a door and the outer archways featuring windows.

On the first floor, there are three 2-light square-faced mullioned windows, each with projecting sills and lintels shaped to resemble voussoirs. The casements are damaged but still retain glazing bars. A moulded sill band on the second floor links the 2-light windows to the outer bays, with moulded deep sills that project from the band and plain lintels. One mullion on the right window is partly missing. The building also has a moulded eaves cornice and fragmentary remains of kneelers and gable copings, although the gable walls and roof are in poor condition.

On the right return, the second-floor sill band continues, and there is a central window similar to that on the front. The interior features plain walls on the upper floor and a standard king-post truss. It is said to have been lined with wooden nesting boxes. The building is currently partly used as a pigsty.
