Description
No 4 is a house located on Laughton Road, dating from the mid 18th century, with some alterations. The building is constructed from squared, coursed limestone and features stone slate eaves courses beneath a Welsh slate roof. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has three windows on the first floor, along with a lower wing at the rear right. The house has large quoins and the ground-floor openings are of a later date. These include a part-glazed door set in a chamfered, quoined surround, which is topped by a bracketed stone-slab hood, and flanking paired casements in ashlar surrounds. On the first floor, there are later 4-pane sash windows within original square-faced surrounds. The roof has shaped kneelers and square-cut gable copings, with corniced stacks at the ends. At the rear, there is a later stack at the eaves and a dormer window on the right.
