Description
No. 16 Main Street is a house built in the early 19th century, with some additions and alterations from the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed, squared limestone and has a 20th-century cement-tile roof. The building is two storeys high and features two sets of two bays. At the front, there is a plinth and a central doorway that has plinth blocks, an architrave, and a pediment. This doorway is flanked by two unequally-hung 20-pane sash windows, which have projecting sills and thin lintels. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sash windows that are treated in a similar manner. The roof is hipped and has an ashlar end stack on the left side. There is a 20th-century addition on the right that is not of special interest. At the rear, there is a tall round-arched stair window with projecting impost blocks and a keystone. The house is included for its group value.
