Description
No. 18 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and offices. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It stands three storeys high and has two bays. The ground floor showcases an early 20th-century shop front with a recessed central entrance and pilastered shop windows. On the first floor, there are two plate-glass sash windows, and there are two similar windows on the upper floor, all set beneath flat brick arches, with the upper floor windows having projecting sills. The building also has a wooden eaves board and brick stacks at the ends. It is included in the register for its group value with other nearby structures.
