HUNSHELF UNDERBANK LANE (west side, off), Hunshelf Barn approx. 30 metres to west of Underbank Hall

GV II

Barn range. Early to mid C18, re-roofed C19. Coursed, squared rubble, stone slate roof. Quoins. Segmental-headed cart entries to centre and right with quoined surrounds. Two small entrances with deep lintels to left and one to right. Hollow-chamfered gable copings on cut kneelers. Three square pitching holes at high level. To far left at 90° is an attached later building not of special interest. Rear: two opposed segmental-headed cart entries (all part- blocked). Right return: one 2-light double-chamfered window to gable apex. Interior: sawn softwood trusses of C19 type.
