Description
This barn, located approximately 90 meters north of Underley Grange, dates from 1770, although parts may be older. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof. The west elevation has quoins at the north end and to the left of a segmental-headed barn entrance. This section includes two double-chamfered-mullioned windows with two lights each, along with two smaller windows above that have small-paned glazing. The entrance to the barn has had its doors removed, and to the right of this entrance is a blocked former entrance where a large loading door has been inserted. The north gable end has a gable pitching hole. On the east elevation, there is a later continuous outshut beneath a catslide roof. Inside the southern end, the trusses have principal rafters that extend to points below the wall plate, supporting the common rafters.
