Description
Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is constructed of dry coursed rubble and has a stone slate roof. The building has a three-cell L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high with three bays. The left bay projects forward and features a gabled roof. On the ground floor, there is a three-light double-chamfered mullion window, which is partially blocked, along with an entrance and an altered window to the left. Above this, on the first floor, is a four-light double-chamfered mullion window, although two of the mullions have been removed, and it has a hoodmould. The gable contains a blocked trefoiled opening situated between two dripmoulds. The doorway, located between the centre and right bays, has a deep lintel and a chamfered surround. To the left of the doorway is a large former four-light window, now altered to accommodate two large sash windows. There is also a former four-light window on the first floor, which has had two mullions removed. To the right, there is a four-light double-chamfered mullion window, again with two mullions removed, and a three-light flat-faced mullion window on the first floor. A 20th-century dormer is positioned above the door. The right return features an excellent moulded doorway with an ornamental lintel, a hoodmould (part missing), stops, and a small plaque above. The interior has not been inspected.
