Description
Routster Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries, consisting of two main sections. The building is constructed of slobbered rubble brought to course, with painted stone dressings and a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and two bays. The entrance, located to the left of centre, features a plain surround and a plank door. To the left of the entrance, there is a ground floor window with three lights that has double chamfered mullions, and an upper floor window with two lights that also has chamfered mullions. The right-hand bay is slightly lower and contains a ground floor window with four lights that has double chamfered mullions, and an upper floor 17th-century chamfered window with a flat-faced mullion inserted to create two lights. The windows include a mixture of casements and four-pane sashes. There is a 19th-century weather wall at the left-hand gable, and a ridge stack is located at the former left-hand gable and at the central gable of the taller bay. The interior is not accessible.
